All that glitters is not gold - if you're really lucky, it's sequins!

My intense love of sequins is quite possibly one of the world's worst kept secrets; just ask anybody fortunate enough to have been one of my many shopping companions at some point during the past few months and they would almost certainly verify that I am drawn to them like some kind of sartorial magpie.  What began as a fairly minor appreciation of all things sparkly grew gradually over time until I laid eyes upon that blue Balmain dress (photo below) at which point it snowballed into a full blown obsession and before I knew what had happened, it was all I could do not to adorn myself in head-to-toe sequins every time I left the house.

This waistcoat from H&M is my current most coveted item - it is literally haunting me, I even had a sequinned-waistcoat-based dream a couple of nights ago, so I fear I may have to neglect my heartfelt vow to save the ever-decreasing amount of Erasmus grant left in my possession and snap it up before it disappears!

When I'm not staring longingly at that particular item and daydreaming about the immediate benefits that would undoubtedly result from its purchase, there are several other (less realistic) sequin-laden garments that I have been lusting over for longer than I care to admit...

1. Blue Striped Dress - Balmain
2. Silver Dress - Issac Mizrahi
3. Gold Trophy Blazer - Topshop
4. Multicoloured Dress - Topshop Unique
5. Black Leggings - H&M

It is the most wonderfully extravagant and outrageous trend to grace the highstreet for some time, and as the Christmas party season approaches (not to mention my 21st and NYE!) it's showing no signs of wavering; hopefully I'll be able to indulge my inner magpie for a little while longer?!

  2. Topshop has the most beautiful sequinned pieces in at the moment. The best choice for the party season I agree!
