The single most frustrating thing about the crazy jet-setter lifestyle I currently lead is the horrendously restricted clothing options that airline luggage restrictions have forced upon me.  Twenty kilograms just doesn't cut it when it comes to packing for five months away; I've lost count of the number of times I've reached into my wardrobe for a particular item, only to realise that it didn't make it into the already overflowing suitcase.

Long story short, there was a rigorous and well-thought-out selection process behind what may have resembled a rather haphazard packing technique; one which I must thank for landing this gem in Barcelona with me, despite it only having had a handful of outings beforehand.

The dress in question was an Oxfam bargain at only £3 - one which I believe may have led a rather sad and unremarkable existence as an old lady's skirt in a previous life.  However, that pattern and those colours leapt out at me and I felt compelled to rescue it, give it a new lease of life.  A bit of imagination, and a few quick alterations later and I had myself a brand new dress!
