The sun is shining in Barcelona today. Like really, really shining; so much so that I'm almost tempted to stop writing and run outside in my pajamas, just so that I can feel the warmth on my skin.
Anyway, I'm well aware that boasting about the weather is unlikely to win me any points with those of you enduring rather less glorious climates and, as wonderful as it is, the sunshine is not the reason for this post. My point is, when the weather is this beautiful and we have the whole summer stretching out in front of us, it is very difficult to imagine a time beyond it; a time when we will be welcoming warm coats and scarves back into our lives with open arms. However, as unlikely as it may seem at present, winter will inevitably make a reappearance and necessitate warmer dressing and hey, if something's worth doing, it's worth doing well, right?!
Issey Miyake - A/W 2010
If we absolutely must accept colder weather back into our lives at some point, this is how it should be done - with some seriously bright colours and wildly varied textures all layered up to increasingly decadent levels of excess.

I'm torn; I can't WAIT to be able to run around in cutoffs and happy dresses, (without tights!), yet I'm in love with this layering and heavy textures....
